Dundas Avenue Playground

{Edinburgh} Dundas Avenue Play Area

Rounding of this week of reviews is the last stop on our recent trip to North Queensferry, the Forth Road Bridge, and South Queensferry. Dundas Avenue Play Area is situated just a ten minute walk from the train station, and we ended up here after just missing a train and realising the next one wasn’t for another hour. Much better to spend the waiting time at a playground than sitting on the station platform.

Dundas Avenue Playground

The Dundas Avenue playground was a bit tired looking, with quite a few holes in the rubber surfacing. But the play equipment itself all seemed to be in working order, with two multi-play units – one for toddlers and one for older children. The only big downside is that it only had toddler swings, not any other swings too. But the playground was very popular with the local children.

While for those from further afield it’s probably not worth making a trip just to visit the playground here, it’s worth a stopover as part of a day trip to South Queensferry – especially if you miss your train and have some time to kill!
