Our 2020 Reading Journey – Month 12

Last year, I decided that this year I would record all the books my 5 year old and I read together. Actually, he’s now 6 years old, as it was his birthday in November. I’ve been snapping a quick picture of all the books from each day, and collecting them in an album over on my blog’s Facebook page – and now also on Instagram! Here’s our pile of books from our twelfth and month:

Books We Read in December 2020

December was a really busy book month, mostly due to our massive collection of Christmas books which we started working our way through as soon as Advent started. I also realised that we had very few Christmas books in German, so ended up buying quite a few as an early Christmas present. In particular, I tried to find ones that mention ‘Christkind’ as the gift bringer – some regions in Germany have the Weihnachtsmann (i.e. Santa) as a gift bringer, and some have Christkind, and it’s Christkind that I grew up with and who comes to our house on Christmas Eve. In total, we read 66 different books, which was our join busiest month (along with July) in our reading year.
