{Edinburgh} Spylaw Park Playground
This past weekend, we took a trip down the road to see the famous Colinton Tunnel mural (review to follow) and stopped off at Spylaw Park playground while we were there. Spylaw Park is a small park in a wood clearing on the riverbank of the Water of Leith, just off the main footpath through Colinton Dell. With a large grassy area to run around on, picnic tables and benches, and the fenced off playground, this is a perfect spot to stop off at on a riverside walk or to visit the Colinton Tunnel mural – as we did – which is right next to the park.

Although the playground is probably more suited for younger children, it was a welcome break for the boys to have a run around and does also include some swings suitable for bigger kids. As well as public transport to local buses, there’s also a small car park. And just up the road in Colinton Village, a few minutes walk away, you’ll find public toilets and a convenience store if you need to stock up of snacks or refreshments.
