{Edinburgh} Falcon Road Park Playground
We visited our second playground of the year last weekend. This wee hidden gem just off Falcon Road is one we often stop by at on our way home from walks to the Hermitage of Braid or Blackford Pond.
My 11 year old is probably getting too big for this one, though there are some regular swings suitable for his size, but my 7 year old still really loves this. There are three different slides, as well as plenty of different climbing opportunities and a set of monkey bars which both boys are desperately trying to master. Just need to keep building up that upper body strength! It’s a great little surprise to find this in a quite heavily built up residential area, but be aware it can get quite busy being directly next to a school and with another school being built

How to get there
This is a playground that’s a little hard to find. It’s tucked away in a residential area, next to St Peter’s Primary School. It’s not one you’d pass by chance, and you really need to know what you are looking for. It can be accessed from two sides. The closest is from Falcon Road at the school. It may look like the steps/ ramp lead down to just the school, but don’t be deterred. Go right past the school gates, and you’ll find the playground in your right. You can also access the playground from Canaan Lane – there’s a path leading up to the playground that starts just across from where Canaan Lane meets Woodburn Terrace. Due to being tucked away, there are no bus stops immediately next to the playground but there are buses that stop on Morningside Road, just a 3-5 minute walk away.
