#KidsBooksBingo Summer Reading Challenge 2020

We’ve made it to the end of our first week of summer camp. I have dedicated Friday to books, and today I want to tell you about the summer reading challenge I am hosting together with my lovely friend Amanda who runs the online children’s book store Books & Pieces. For the second year in a row, we are running a #KidsBooksBingo! We have created a bingo grid with nine different book categories, and we are challenging you to read books from as many of them as you can over the summer. We have tried to pick categories that work for different ages, and apart from ‘a lift-the-flap book’ I did manage to find books that both my 5 year old and my 9 year old liked when picking our own favourites for each category.

You can download a copy of the bingo grid, so that you don’t have to memorise all the categories. And if you are on Twitter or Instagram, you can also join in by sharing pictures of what you are reading with the hashtag #KidsBooksBingo.

Each Friday throughout July and August, I’ll also be highlighting a few of our own favourites from a different category here on the blog. You’ll get a chance to take a peek inside some of our favourite books, and perhaps discover some new favourites of your own to read over the summer. For this week, I have chosen to highlight ‘a search and find book’, with three different books for ages 1.5/ 2 years up to 8+
