Quick homemade strawberry lemonade
Strawberries are one of my favourite things about summer. This quick strawberry lemonade recipe is super refreshing, and short cuts the need to make and cool down a lemonade sirup first – just blitz everything together and top up with sparkling water!
Ingredients
(makes 6 – 8 servings)
- one punnet of strawberries (ca 400g)
- juice of 2 limes
- 20g sugar
- a couple of mint leaves
Note: We like our lemonade a little tart, so don’t add a lot of sugar. If you like yours sweeter, just add more sugar.
To serve
- sparkling water
- a sprig of mint per glass
- ice cubes
- some lime slices
Directions
Wash the strawberries, cut off the green parts, and cut the strawberries in half
Blitz the strawberries together with the sugar, lime juice, and a small handful of mint leaves in a food processor (you can also use a blender stick, in which case you might want to cut the strawberries a little smaller).
To serve, add around 50g of the strawberry puree to a tall glass and top up with sparkling water. Gently swirl around to get the puree to mix with the water, but don’t stir too hard as you don’t want the water to go flat.
Add some ice cubes, a sprig of mint and a slice of lime.
Enjoy!
