{Edinburgh} Morningside Park Playground
This morning, as we were waiting to pick up our eldest from his Brass Monkey Scouts camp (brrrr…), we took our 7 year old for a walk to the playground in Morningside Park. It was freezing, but he was feeling a little left out from all the adventure. Most of the photos below are from previous visits last year though, when the weather was a little sunnier.

Morningside Park is a nice wee park in the middle of a busy residential and shopping area. It’s tucked away behind Morningside Cemetery, and we didn’t realise at first that it was there. Since discovering it though, we’ve visited multiple times. The tall spiral slide, regular swings and spinning bowl are enough to keep even my 11 year old entertained – even though he wasn’t with us on this occasion – but there’s play equipment for toddlers too. So a good all rounder for visiting with kids of different ages. There’s also an adjacent ball court, and a grassy area for running around. If you get hungry or are craving a coffee, there’s also shops and cafes not that far away. The Leaf & Bean on Comiston Road (ca 10 min walk) is a favourite.

It’s the 36 bus that goes to Morningside playground rather than the 26
